Mirella Minkman: ‘We will have to change the way we work. Given the workforce shortages it’s crucial we stop outdated nursing practices. We should embrace technology and make it more supportive, and in general re-organize health care and support systems. We will have to make choices: not every possible intervention has to be available in every setting. If an IT-solution offers sufficient quality, then yes, we should go for it. But it’s very important nurses support people in choosing the solution that’s best for them.’
